VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITES
Racing For Heroes is in immediate need of volunteers to fill the following positions. If you or someone you know are interested in and able to help, please email us with which position you'd like to volunteer as, along with a brief background summary of applicable experience.
Volunteer Positions:
The following pro-bono and volunteer positions carry the following prerequisites, in addition to the specific experiences applicable for the position.
Fundraiser - Identify and coordinate fundraising opportunities within local and regional communities. Nonprofit fundraiser planning and execution experience required. 3-6 hours per week, “per event” commitment. Can be done remotely.
Community Outreach Officers - Spread awareness and gain support for RFH, through establishing and leveraging community relationships. Build and maintain regional databases of Veterans both in need of RFH executable therapeutic support, and both Veterans and civilians interested in becoming involved with RFH mission. Lead generation for interviews with RFH Founder via regional and national media outlets (print, radio, web, etc). 2-4 hours per week, 3 month commitment. Can be done remotely.
Graphic Designer - Production of flyers, banners, marketing and media materials. Must be organized, with good work ethic and ability to work efficiently within deadlines. 4-8 hours per week, 6 and 12 month commitments. Can be done remotely.
Grant Writer - Experienced and well versed to research, write grants, and respond to funders’ questions about a proposal, developing relationships with prospective donors, and documenting a grant’s impact at the conclusion of a project. Specifically looking for grants applicable to Veteran recreational or alternative forms of therapy in the fields of PTSD, TBI, depression, and reintegration. Must have good working knowledge of the grant process, and be able to execute in both the government (local and national), and nonprofit foundation grant sectors. 3-6 hours per week, 6 and 12 month commitments. Can be done remotely
Researcher; Veterans in local racing - Identifying and forwarding individuals or lists of Veterans in local and regional motorsports competition. 0.25 - 1 hour per week, 1 and 3 month commitments. Can be done remotely.
Researcher; Veterans in business - Identifying and forwarding individuals or lists of Veterans in executive positions within regional, national and global corporations. 0.25 - 1 hour per week. 1 and 3 month commitments. Can be done remotely.
Veteran-Owned small business outreach - Spread awareness and gain support for RFH, through identifying, establishing and leveraging relationships with local and regional Veteran-Owned small businesses, businesses with strong Veteran and Veteran spouse employment programs, and Veterans who hold corporate positions in upper-management and above. 2-4 hours per week, 3 month commitment. Can be done remotely.
Veteran Family liaison - Spread awareness of RFH mission and effectiveness of our form of recreational therapy to the families of Veterans, regardless of era or branch of service. Must learn and be able to educate Veteran family members of the signs and symptoms of a Veteran struggling with mental and coping issues related to service. 1-3 hours per week, 6 month commitment. Can be done remotely.
Regional programs directors - Responsible for coordinating and executing Veteran and RFH “Team” gatherings focusing around motorsports and automotive maintenance/repair, (for example getting group of Veterans together at a Team member’s garage to do oil changes, tire rotations, performance upgrades, etc to the vehicles of local Veterans, Gold Star Families, and RFH supporters). Must have good leadership ability, and be well organized. Must report progress, updates and lessons learned to RFH Chief Operations Officer on a weekly basis. 4-6 hours per week, 9 month commitment. Can be done remotely.
Racetrack event liaison - Coordinate and advertise Veteran Appreciation recognition and events at local race tracks and motorsports parks. 1-3 hours per week, 6 month commitment. Can be done remotely.

- Ready to have fun and help change the lives of both civilians and Veterans.
- Transparent communication (if an objective isn’t able to be carried out as originally conceived, tell us immediately and without hesitation)
- Veteran status or experience with Veterans is not required, however is generally beneficial
- Motorsports knowledge and experience is not required, however is generally beneficial
