Welcome to the Racing For Heroes' Blog
3/29/2022 0 Comments The RFH Health & Wellness CenterRacing For Heroes (RFH) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Veteran Serving Organization co-located with Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, VA. We exist to empower veterans dealing with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain injury (TBI), Depression and Anxiety, and other service-related injuries by filling the gaps left by inadequate government resources. By utilizing our Health and Wellness, Motorsports Therapy, Career and Education Services, and Community Outreach programs, RFH can ensure veterans get the individual and holistic treatment they deserve. The Health and Wellness Program serves as a cornerstone of RFH and is central to our mission. In contrast to the one size fits all approach, RFH utilizes functional medicine to tailor a health and wellness regimen specifically to the needs of each veteran. Some of the services currently offered include functional medicine labs, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, vitamin and mineral supplementation, lifestyle and nutrition counseling, and exercise prescription. RFH even offers onsite hyperbaric oxygenation therapy (HBOT) to assist in recovery, including TBI.1 Given the importance of the Health and Wellness Program, RFH has decided to commission a Health and Wellness Center. The center will include both a health clinic and gym/wellness area. This will allow the onsite administration of all the services mentioned above and more. We believe this is crucial in guaranteeing the quality of the services being offered and, therefore, necessary to ensure veterans within the program reach their fullest potential. RFH is exceptionally fortunate to have Dr. Richard W. Camp, D.O., and SFC U.S. Army Special Forces (Ret.), overseeing this program. Ground-breaking for the new Health and Wellness Center has commenced with expected completion in Summer 2023. To prevent a gap of service for our program participants, RFH will continue to provide program services out of our training HQ at VIR. To learn more about our other programs or support RFH, please visit our website at racingforheroes.org. You may contact our office at (434) 822-4201 or email us at info@racingforheroes.org with any questions. As with all non-profits, we cannot function without the support of others and are so grateful to everyone that joins us in our mission. Together we can continue to serve veterans so they may live their best lives possible. RFH Wellness Center Conceptual Design 1 . Doenyas-Barak K, Catalogna M, Kutz I, Levi G, Hadanny A, et al.
