This is the list of military inspired drinks heard on Racing for Heroes Radio on WVOX 1460 AM on December 11, 2020. We were fortunate to have whiskey expert Tom "Tommy" Mauriello of Edrington as a guest on our show. He researched a number of military inspired drinks as shown below.

SONS OF LIBERTY PUNCH
The "rum punch" that started a Revolution

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle Brugal Anejo
  • 12 oz. Naked Grouse
  • 2 oz. peach brandy
  • Dissolve the sugar in the water. Then add remaining of the ingredients. Add large block of ice, and chill for at least three hours.

  • 3/4 ounce Cointreau

An homage to the Artillery

  • 1-1/4 ounce Hennessy Cognac
  • 3/4 ounce Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup (or a tad less)
  • Brut Champagne
  • Lemon Twist for Garnish

  • 1 oz. Lillet
  • 1⁄2 oz. Cocchi Vermouth de Torino
  • 4 dashes orange bitters
  • 1 large, thick orange peel, for garnish
  • 1 maraschino cherry, for garnish (optional)

​Stand by for heavy rolls as the ship comes about

  • 1 1/2 ounces London Dry Gin
  • 3/4 ounce Campari
  • 3/4 ounce fresh juice from 1 lemon

  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup (see note)
  • 1 two-inch Rosemary sprig, plus additional for garnish
